While the PlayStation 5 has been easier to purchase at points over the past few months, it still remains largely elusive. One way Sony is trying to combat scalpers and get the console into the hands of fans is by selling the device directly, and we’ve seen it launch its PlayStation Direct storefront in Europe following success in the United States.

Now it’s adopting another American initiative, by allowing you to register your interest. According to the Japanese giant, a “limited amount” of consoles are available to customers in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. In order to be in with a chance of purchasing one, you just need to enter your PSN username through here.

While this is far from guaranteeing you a console, successful applicants will be emailed with a date, time, and full instructions on how to purchase a system. Obviously you can choose not to order, but that stock will then be allocated elsewhere. Clearly, this isn’t a fool proof system, but it’s at least a little more structured than the lottery that has occurred at other retailers.
